Private Firm Fined Rs 10,000 for Illegal Garbage Dumping on Siruvaani Road

Coimbatore Corporation has imposed a Rs 10,000 fine on a private firm for illegally dumping garbage on Siruvaani Road in Ward 39, West Zone. The civic body has warned of strict action against further violations and urged residents and establishments to dispose of waste properly.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation has imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the owner of a private establishment for illegally dumping garbage on Siruvaani Road in Ward No. 39 of the West Zone.




During an inspection conducted by corporation officials, it was discovered that a private establishment had improperly disposed of waste on Siruvaani Road. Recognizing this as a serious public health hazard, immediate action was taken against the violators.




The establishment owner has been fined Rs 10,000 and has been ordered to immediately clear the dumped garbage. Additionally, the corporation has issued a stern warning that any future violations will attract stringent legal action and heavier penalties.




In an official statement, the corporation stated, "Residents and commercial establishments must dispose of waste properly. We request everyone to utilize the corporation's waste collection system for proper garbage disposal." The civic body emphasized that maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility.




Corporation officials have warned that dumping garbage in public places is a legal offense. Violators will face penalties and legal proceedings. The corporation has intensified surveillance in various parts of the city to identify and penalize those who dump waste illegally, ensuring public spaces remain clean and hygienic.




The action comes as part of the corporation's ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across the city. Citizens are encouraged to report any illegal dumping activities to the corporation helpline for prompt action.
