Coimbatore: A 26-year-old migrant worker from Bihar died following an alleged assault during a drunken altercation with two fellow workers at a private fertiliser factory near Mettupalayam. Police have arrested the two accused in connection with the incident.

The deceased was identified as P.C. Yadav (26), a native of Bihar, who was employed as a daily wage labourer at a private fertiliser factory in Jadayampalayam near Mettupalayam. The accused, Ajith (42) and Ujith (40), both natives of Bihar, were also employed at the same factory and were staying on the premises.

According to police, the three men were consuming alcohol on the night of July 16 when an argument allegedly broke out between them. The quarrel reportedly escalated into a physical assault, during which Ajith and Ujith allegedly attacked Yadav, causing injuries.
