Coimbatore’s 24x7 Water Supply Project Nears Completion; Final Pipeline Works to Commence from July 24

The Coimbatore Corporation has announced that the city’s 24x7 drinking water supply project is 98% complete, with the remaining pipeline-laying works along key stretches of Mettupalayam Road, Trichy Road and Avinashi Road scheduled to commence on July 24 and be completed by August 31.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has announced that 98% of the works under the city’s ambitious 24x7 drinking water supply project have been completed, with only a limited stretch of pipeline-laying works along select National and State Highways remaining.

According to the Corporation, the pending pipeline installation will be undertaken along Mettupalayam Road from Murugan Mills to ITI, Trichy Road from Ondipudur to Oppanakara Street Police Junction, and Avinashi Road from PSG College of Arts & Science to Thandu Mariamman Temple in Uppilipalayam.

The pipeline-laying works are scheduled to commence on July 24 and are expected to be completed by August 31, paving the way for the project to be commissioned for public use.

The civic body said the remaining works are being expedited in accordance with the directions of the District Collector to ensure the project’s timely completion and operationalisation.

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja, IAS, has appealed to residents and road users to extend their cooperation during the execution of the pipeline-laying works and to bear with any temporary inconvenience caused during the construction period.
