Coimbatore Mayor Inspects Water Tank and Sewage Pumping Station in Poonganagar

Coimbatore Corporation Mayor Ranganaayaki Ramachandran inspected the overhead water tank and sewage pumping station in Ward 23, East Zone, at Poonganagar. She instructed officials to expedite drinking water supply and sewage pumping station improvement works in the area.


Coimbatore: Mayor Ranganaayaki Ramachandran conducted a direct inspection today in areas under Ward No. 23 of Coimbatore Corporation's East Zone. She thoroughly examined the overhead water tank and sewage pumping station improvement works in the Poonganagar area.

The Mayor personally visited the overhead water tank in Poonganagar and conducted a detailed inspection regarding whether regular drinking water supply is being provided to the people in that area. She sought explanations from officials about the functioning of the storage tank and the water supply status.



Subsequently, the Mayor inspected the improvement works of the sewage pumping station with a capacity of approximately 1 MLD located in the Poonganagar area near Chithra Airport. She gave firm instructions to officials to complete the sewage pumping station rehabilitation works quickly.

During this inspection, East Zone Chairperson Ilakumi Ilanjelvikarthik, Assistant Commissioner Dakshinamurthy, Councilor Maniyan, Assistant City Planner Srinivasan, Zonal Health Officer Chandran, Assistant Engineer Muthukumar, and other Corporation officials were present.

It is noteworthy that the Mayor is paying special attention to the development of basic facilities in Ward 23 area. The Mayor assured that works related to drinking water supply and sewage management will be completed on a priority basis.
