Coimbatore Peelamedu Councillor Inspects Drainage and Sewage Works in Ward 27

Ward 27 Councillor Ambika Dhanabalan inspected ongoing civic works including Rs 10 lakh stormwater drainage project, sewage blockage repairs, garbage collection, and tree debris removal in Peelamedu area under Singanalur constituency, instructing officials on proper execution.


Coimbatore: A Rs 10 lakh stormwater drainage project is currently underway in Ward 27 of Peelamedu area under Coimbatore Corporation's North Zone, falling within Singanalur Assembly Constituency. The project is being funded through the councillor's constituency development fund.






On the morning of August 26, 2019, Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanabalan personally visited the Duraisamy Naidu Layout area to inspect the ongoing stormwater drainage work. During the inspection, she instructed the contractor to ensure that drinking water and sewage pipelines are not damaged during the work and to take measures to prevent any inconvenience to the public.






Later the same morning, Councillor Ambika Dhanabalan inspected sewage blockage repair work on Peelamedu Giri Amman Koil Street. She directed the sanitation workers to completely clear the sewage blockage and restore proper functioning of the drainage system.






Additionally, the councillor visited the Shimoga Garden area in Peelamedu to verify whether the daily garbage collection auto was operating on schedule. During this visit, she appealed to residents to segregate waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories before handing it over for collection.




Similarly, she inspected the removal of tree branches and debris accumulated along the roadsides in the BRP Garden area of Peelamedu using JCB machinery. She instructed the JCB operator to thoroughly clean all tree debris throughout the BRP Garden area.
