Passenger Alert: Mangaluru–Chennai Express Services to Terminate at Tambaram

Passengers are advised to note temporary changes to the Mangaluru–Chennai Egmore Express due to engineering works at Chennai Egmore. The service, will terminate at Tambaram instead of Egmore from August 20 to 24, while the return service will originate from Tambaram from August 21 to 25.

Coimbatore: In view of engineering works being undertaken as part of the redevelopment of Chennai Egmore Railway Station, changes have been made to the terminating and originating stations of three train services between August 20 and 25.

As part of the redevelopment works, columns are to be erected and girders launched for the construction of a Foot Over Bridge at Chennai Egmore. To facilitate the works, the Mangaluru–Chennai Egmore and Salem–Chennai Egmore services will be short-terminated at Tambaram, while the Chennai Egmore–Mangaluru service will originate from Tambaram.

Train No. 16160 Mangaluru Central–Chennai Egmore Express, operating via Coimbatore, Erode, Karur and Tiruchchirappalli, will be short-terminated at Tambaram for services scheduled from August 20 to 24. The train will arrive at Tambaram at 3.15 a.m.

The return service, Train No. 16159 Chennai Egmore–Mangaluru Central Express, operating via Tiruchchirappalli, Karur, Erode and Coimbatore, will instead originate from Tambaram for services scheduled from August 21 to 25. It will depart Tambaram at 11.40 p.m.

Similarly, Train No. 22154 Salem–Chennai Egmore Express, operating via Attur, Chinna Salem, Vriddhachalam and Villupuram, will be short-terminated at Tambaram from August 20 to 24. The train will arrive at Tambaram at 3.30 a.m.

Passengers travelling on these services are advised to take note of the temporary changes to the terminating and originating stations.
