Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS personally inspected development works in the West Zone. He reviewed the breakfast scheme kitchen, Bio-Mining center, wholesale vegetable markets, and playground, instructing officials while also listening to public grievances during the comprehensive visit.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS today (19.08.2026) personally visited and inspected the development project works underway in areas under the West Zone of the Corporation.
Initially, he inspected the kitchen facility at R.S. Puram, Diwan Bahadur Road, under Ward No. 72, where food is prepared for Corporation schools under the breakfast scheme. He instructed officials to provide additional facilities including roofing and drinking water. Later, he conducted a surprise inspection of the multi-level four-wheeler parking facility in the same area.
Next, he visited and inspected the Bio-Mining waste recycling center located at Kavundampalayam, Jeeva Nagar area under Ward No. 33. He directed the concerned officials to expedite the waste segregation work.
Furthermore, he personally visited and inspected the Tomato Market at Kavundampalayam, Jeeva Nagar under the same Ward 33, and the MGR Wholesale Vegetable Market located on Mettupalayam Main Road under Ward No. 45.
Subsequently, at Vadavalli, Balaji Nagar area under Ward No. 38, he personally listened to grievances from the public. He instructed officials to take appropriate action to develop a playground on Corporation-owned land in that area. He also enquired whether drinking water was being supplied regularly. He appealed to the public to segregate waste and hand it over to sanitation workers.
During this inspection, several Corporation officials were present including Chief Engineer Vijayakumar, Assistant Commissioner Narmada, Corporation Education Officer Gunasekaran, Executive Engineer Jegan, Assistant Health Officer Savitha, Zonal Executive Engineer Radhakrishnan, Assistant Engineers Karthikeyan and Manjuladevi, and Health Inspector Rajendran.
