Hari Krishnan (23) and Prakash (26) were detained under the Goondas Act by Coimbatore District for their alleged involvement in a 2026 attempt-to-murder case at Periyanaickenpalayam.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has ordered the detention of Hari Krishnan (23) and Prakash (26) under the Goondas Act for their involvement in an attempt-to-murder case.
According to the police, a case was registered at Periyanaickenpalayam Police Station on August 17, 2026, against Hari Krishnan (23) and Prakash (26) for allegedly attempting to murder a person named Pradeep. Both men were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
Acting on the recommendation of Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Pavan Kumar Reddy to book the duo under the Goondas Act, District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar passed orders for their detention under the provisions of the Act. Accordingly, Hari Krishnan and Prakash have been detained under the Goondas Act.
The Coimbatore District Police has urged the public to share information about persons involved in similar criminal activities through Nizhal, the QR-code-based safety platform, or the Control Room number 94981 81212 and WhatsApp number 77081 00100. The identity and details of those providing information will be kept strictly confidential.
