City Corporation officials retrieve Rs.13.75 crores of encroached lands from private parties

The City Corporation officials have retrieved a total of 1.59 acres of lands, worth about Rs.13.75 crores which have been encroached upon by private parties over the years.

In a drive carried out to retrieve the encroached lands the civil officials evicted the encroachers and retrieved 24.8 cents of lands near new happy garden area while another 31.5 cents of land in Rajan nagar in Vadavalli area (ward 16) were also retrieved.

Encroached municipal lands were also retrieved in Kalapatti (ward 66) and Saravanampatti (ward 31) an d Kumarapalayam.

CCM Corporation Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan has issued a warning that those who encroach upon utility areas of corporation would be severely dealt with.

“The corporation has erected boards on the retrieved lands to ward off offenders” he said.
