BJP leaders left red-faced as BJP candidate Karu. Nagarajan gets lesser votes than NOTA in RK Nagar

Coimbatore Dec 24

Even as the BJP has suffered the ignominy of  getting less votes than that polled in NOTA (None of the above) in the RK Nagar by-poll in which TTV Dinakaran scored a resounding victory, with an impressive margin of over 40,073 votes, many questions are being raised about the saffron party’s abysmal record  in the  bypoll.

Karu. Nagarajan the BJP candidate,  managed to get only 1417 votes, which is less than the number of votes polled in NOTA -- 2323.

This poor performance might prove to be a shocker for the saffron party, which hopes to find a foothold in Tamilnadu, riding piggyback on the shoulders of AIADMK led by Chief minister Edapadi K.Palaniswami.

The bad showing of BJP has left the leaders of the saffron party red-faced. Senior leader Subramanian Swami has tweeted “TN BJP Record: A national party gets a quarter of NOTA’s vote. Time for Accountability” which showed the party’s embarrassment in RK Nagar.

Karu. Nagarajan, told a TV channel  “this is not a democratic election “ when the question of his abysmal performance was raised by journalists.

In a by-poll which threw up many surprises including the convincing victory of  TTV Dinakaran, and the loss of deposit for, Marudhu Ganesh, the DMK candidate, the humiliating loss has hut the ambition of “flowering of lotus” in Tamilnadu.
