Patient ends life at CMCH

S. Venkatesan (46) of Okkiliyar Street in Variety Hall Road reportedly ended his life by slitting his wrists at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital in the wee hours of Monday.

He was admitted to the hospital a couple of weeks ago for problems in intestine. He was operated upon and was being artificially fed. During the early hours of Monday, his mother Rathini (67) found him in a pool of blood near a toilet in ward no 81. He was treated for injuries but died shortly. Race Course Police are investigating the case.

Couple Found Dead

F. Albert (36), a taxi driver of Ganesapuram in Periyanaickenpalayam, and his wife Victoria (34) reportedly ended their life by consuming poison at their house on Sunday. According to the police, Albert had left his two sons aged 12 and two years, respectively, at his brother Alexander’s (37) house on Saturday. On Sunday, Alexander went to Albert’s house to find the couple dead. Frequent quarrel between the couple over Albert’s addiction to alcohol was suspected to be the reason behind the suicide.

Held For Duping Finance Firm

R.S. Puram Police, arrested N. Selvam (37) of Flower Market on Sunday for allegedly duping a finance firm by pledging fake gold. According to the police, he got money against the said jewellery on Tuesday.

He was booked under sections 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code.
