Yesterday, the Corporation officials retrieved 96 cents of reserve site near Perks Matriculation School.
At Ward 64, Co-Operative Colony the Corporation officials had been engaged in clearing off encroachments and re-measuring the area. Years before, 1.96 acres of land was declared as a reserve site and labeled for the construction of a community hall, out of which 1 acre was developed as sites by Ramanathapuram Housing Society in the year 1987. The remaining 96 cents was left unnoticed for years together, which now has become the private property of Krishnamoorthy a resident of that area. It is assumed that Krishnamoorthy had unlawfully altered the government document to his name.
Now, the forgery committed by him has come to limelight, the issue was escalated to the revenue department who cancelled the illegal registration of the 96 cents. S.P. Thiyagarajan of the Tamil Nadu Reserve Site Protection Committee had stressed to initiate stern legal action against such devious incidents.
