Post-Matric Scholarship applications for Minorities invited


 The State Government has called in applications for Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for the current academic year 2016-17. 

The objective of the scheme is to provide equal opportunities for meritorious students hailing from economically weaker sections of the community.

Students from minority communities, who are pursuing 11th,12th, ITI, Diploma, Vocational courses by National Council, UG & PG Courses, Masters, M.Phil, and Research education through Government, Govt. Aided and Govt Recognised schools can avail these scholarships.

For the current year,  around 18989 students from Tamilnadu will get benefited through the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme. 

The following are the criteria put forth by the govt to qualify for scholarship:

1. The annual income of the family should be less than 2.5 lakhs per annum.

2. The student should provide proof of address along with copy of Aadhar card.

3. Copy of the fee receipt from the educational institution, if applicable.

4. Students should have procured more than 50% in their previous qualifying examination. 

5. The student should have an bank account.

The scholarship amount will be directly credited to the students bank account and hence they are requested to provide accurate bank details (Core Bank Service Account number, IFS Code). 

The applications can be downloaded from www.scholarships.gov.in. The last date for submission of application of 11th & 12th students is 31st July and for other cadres on or before 31st September 2016. The students can submit the duly filled application forms either to the school authorities or can directly upload it in the website.
