Today, a meeting was convened by the District Collector T.N.Hariharan on hygienic water supply and cleanliness at all rural areas around the city.
Some of the key points of the meet:
- The officials of town panchayats should ensure hygienic disbursement of water to the locals.
- The water dispersing tanks should be cleaned every 15 days to ensure cleanliness.
- People should also be educated on rainwater harvesting techniques.
- The officials should intensify mosquito control operations at all rural areas.
- The open head tanks and water bodies should be regularly monitored to curb mosquito breeding.
- The people should be educated to keep their premise cleanly to prevent Dengue mosquitos breeding.
- The officials were asked to initiate regular plans to spray medicines for controlling mosquitoes in all public places around the city.
The meeting was attended by Ganeshram, Assistant Director Town Panchayat, Karuppiah, Assistant Director Panchayat and various other government officials were present during the meeting.
