Devotees rejoice 'Aadi Velli'

The Tamil month of Aadi (17th July - 16th August) is presumed to be a significant month for overall well-being and prosperity. Devotees especially, women congregate at temples and offer prayers on all the Fridays.

Today's Aadi Velli (Friday) was a grandeur at 'Periya Kadai Veedhi Mariyamman Kovil'. Hundreds of devotees gathered in joy and in immense faith to adore and celebrate the Aadi Velli function at the temple. 

The temple hosted electric banners which displayed brightly lit deities in many incarnations. The goddess and the temple sanctum was decorated with close to 2500 kgs of fruits. A special Pooja was also performed at the temple for the well-being of the city and for the prosperity of agriculture.
