The pre-preparation for the 70th Independence day celebrations have begun at full swing in the city.
The City Police Commissioner Amalraj stated that nearly 850 Police personnels have been deployed for ensuring security measures on the eve of Independence day.
He revealed that 500 police personnels will be deployed at VOC ground and 350 police personnels will be patrolling from tomorrow.
The District Collector T.N.Hariharan would be hoisting the National Flag at the V.O.C Grounds on Monday morning. The concerned authorities have started the pre-preparation work at the V.O.C grounds, where the District Collector will be hoisting the National flag followed by a official parade, award ceremony and cultural programmes by students from various educational institutions.
