Administrative negligence embarrasses freedom fighter

The entire Nation is celebrating it's 70th Independence day with fervour. The tireless dedication and sacrifices made by our freedom fighters is just not that easy to explain. Hence, as an important part of the celebration, the freedom fighters will be honoured with awards and certificates, a tribute for their tireless role in the Indian Independence.

Today at the celebrations in the VOC Grounds, the District Collector launched and announced some unique welfare schemes for the people belonging to various sectors. As a part of the event, the freedom fighters were also honoured with medals and certificates for their selfless dedication in Indian Independence.

Unexpectedly, the officials asked a freedom fighter to return his gift of honour due to shortage in gift hamper. This disgraceful act by the officials caused grave embarrassment and disappointment to the freedom fighters.

Thiyagi Subramani a freedom fighter from Poo Market stated that the officials asked him to return his gift and gave to it another person and assured to return it shortly.

'We sacrificed innumerable things during the freedom fight, such demeaning acts is an insult to all the freedom fighters' he grieved.
