Cable TV operators demand to fulfil their demands

The Tamilnadu Cable TV operators Union has put-forth their pleas by filing a petition to the district collector on various demands. 

  • Cable TV subscription rate should be revised to Rs.150 as per TRAi guidelines.
  • Arrears of the cable operators to the Tamilnadu Cable TV Corporation should be waived.
  • Cable signals should be provided free of cost.
  • Private contractors should not be provided cable signals the by Tamilnadu Government.
  • Political interference in providing LPO should be stopped.
  • Licence of operators who do not have any experience in cable TV operations should be stopped.
  • Rent levied cable TV operators should be abolished.
  • TN government should partner with the cable operators and initiate a digital service, they proposed.


The services should be provided in all languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. A welfare association should be formed by the Government exclusively for the cable TV operators.
