New initiative for walkers and cyclers to be launched by City Corporation

The Coimbatore City Corporation has bagged the maximum number of points and awards and was conferred with the 'Overall order-of-merit' award at the Skoch Summit in Hyderabad, today.

Yet another commendable and much-needed project has been announced by the City Corporation as part of the 'Smart City Project'. Like the City's hit project 'Car-free Sundays', the new initiative to be launched focusses on promoting non-motorised transport around the Ukkadam Lake Bund area. 

The walkers and cyclers can enjoy the breathtaking view of the lake, totally hassle-free every day between 5 am to 8 am. 'No cars, no bikes, just walkers and cyclers!!!

All active bicycle groups may join the initiative this Sunday and interact with the City Corporation Commissioner Dr. Vijaya Karthikeyan on 11th September 2016, at 7 am to 10 am.
