Banned 'cow dung powder' seized at Ramanathapuram

Yesterday, the Ramanthapuram police were on a spree of checking at all local shops in their area, to rule out trading of banned products. A shopkeeper Pattulingam (33) was held at NA Thevar Street, Ramanathapuram for trading cow dung powder, which has been banned and declared as a prohibited good. The police seized the cow dung powder packets from his shop and took him in custody.

The spade of suicides has been the reason to enlist the product in the banned goods registry. Commonly, referred to as ' Sani Powder' is a highly lethal neurotoxic poison which has claimed the lives of many, mostly in the rural and sub-urban areas.  There is no antidote available for saving the victims.
