The police have nabbed the accused of yesterday's murder in Annur, claiming the life of a young girl, Dhanya.

Reports say, a couple of years back, Zakir had been living in the same compound of Dhanya's residence at Annur. Since, then Zakir had been in love with Dhanya but Dhanya had firmly rejected his proposals. After some days, Zahir vacated the compound and shifted to a new residence in Annur but still was in love with her.
Recently, Dhanya's parents had arranged for her marriage. On hearing this, Zahir approached Dhanya's parents and threatened them on dire consequences, if they do not get their daughter married to him.
Dhanya's parents strongly refused his demands and ignored his threat. Yesterday, while Dhanya was alone at home, Zahir forced opened the back doors and entered her home. He stabbed Dhanya and ensured she died on the spot.
Later, when her parents returned they were struck in shock to see their daughter dead in a pool of blood and immediately reported the incident to the Police.
Zakir after the murder, returned to his residence in Palakkad and attempted suicide. But he was rescued and admitted in Palakkad Hospital. He is now undergoing treatment, under police custody.
Dhanya's Uncle Sasikumar, reported to the press that 'we never expected that he would murder her as threatened. We took his threats lightly, we should have complained about his threats and disturbances, well before'.
Dhanya's body has been handed over to her parents after post-mortem at the Coimbatore government hospital. Both Dhanya and Zakir hail from palakkad but settled in Annur.
