Around, 2000 families are living in Kanjikonampalayam village, Vellalore Municipality.
On Sunday, son-in-law of Krishnasamy, a resident of the same area died in an road accident. Krishnasamy along with his relatives arranged for the burial in an empty land, which is amidst residences and temples. The villagers opposed his intent to bury in the middle of the village and tussled with him to carry out the burial at the designated burial ground. Krishnasamy, denied it and buried at the same place. On the same night, Krishnasamy had performed some midnight pooja rituals at the burial site, this created panic amongst the people and the children, who complained of some strange noises and activity around the burial site, during night hours.
The residents jointly petitioned the Collector to inquire on the issue and the suspicious activities orchestrated during the night times. As per the orders passed by the Collector, today Thasildhar Ravikumar inspected the place and assured the people of immediate action against the issue. The residents urged to re-shift the body from the burial place, with immediate effect.
