The Department of Commerce of Sri Krishna Arts and Science College, today conducted a special lecture on “Economic Reforms and Capital Markets”.

K. Sukumaran, Dean, School for Investors Education & Financial Literacy, National Institute of Securities Market (NISM), Mumbai was the Chief Guest for the session and shared his valuable experience on Securities and Economic Reforms of India to the students.
In his guest lecture he shared that:
Any changes in reforms directly impact the economy of the nation. The new tax reform GST will boost the Indian economy and create a new name for India globally. A sea change reform in happen in the Indian share market, increased production of goods, decreased manufacturing costs.... changes in these systems will directly impact the economy. Global countries will prefer India, to start new ventures and also expansion of its existing industries.

The manufacturing sectors, business sectors, logistics and transportation areas, export and import sectors, consumer durables sectors and many other sectors will get more benefits due to the new indirect tax system (GST). He delineated the essence of Tax Reforms and its contribution towards the economic development. He also stressed the role and importance of Securities Market in India. He stressed on the need of Mutual funds and problems faced by the investors and also suggested ideas to make an effective investment.

The event was attended by CEO Dr.K.Sundararaman, Principal Dr.P.Baba Gnannakumar, HOD’s of Commerce departments Prof.Sumathi, Dr.Anbumalar, Prof.Santhanalakshmi, Prof.Vijimol, other Dept professors and students.
