Chain snatching incidents continue to panic women

Two chain snatching incidents have been reported, today in the city.

Cheeniyammal (65) from Irugur, was on the way to a temple, near her residence. Two unidentified strangers in a two-wheeler snatched her 2.5 sovereign gold chain and sped away. 

In another incident, Dhanalakshmi (60) from Peelamedu was walking in the road adjacent to Fun Mall towards Trichy road. In no time, the snatchers pushed her down and fled  away with her 8 sovereign gold chain.

The police have registered case against the incidents and have set a frantic search for the snatchers.  The increasing chain snatching incidents have alarmed the women to abstain from wearing gold jewels, while on the streets.
