'Suryakanthi' blooms back in theatres


Director Muktha Srinivasan’s 'Suryakanthi' a famed old-time movie was released on 21st September 1973, casting Chief Minister Dr. J. Jayalalitha and Muthuraman in lead roles. Suryakanthi, has bloomed back movie as it has been digitised and re-released in theatres across Tamil Nadu.  In Coimbatore, the digitised version has been released in various theatres in the city and suburbs. 'The Cinema', Brookefields Mall also featured the movie in their screens. Today, at Baba theatres (Archana & Darshana) Poo market, the ardent AIADMK cadres rejoiced the movie release by distributing sweets and played drums in front of the theatre. 

The movie was a mega hit and was rated high among the movie fraternities and public, especially women.  After 40 years, the re-release of the movie in a digital format has given the old movie buffs an opportunity to cherish the movie, back again.
