Minister SP Velumani issues orders for building homes through Slum Clearance board

During the grievance camp held on 19th September, at ward:70, 90 and 93, SP Velumani, Minister for Municipal Management and Rural development and Special Scheme implementation distributed orders for construction of homes for 14 people, who have applied through the Slum Clearance board scheme.

Minister SP Velumani stated that 'Under the Chief Minister's 'house for all project', the applicants will be granted Rs. 2.10 lakhs for constructing homes and Rs. 1.60 lakhs for renovation purposes. Those who have a proper land patta will be allotted a grant of Rs. 6.50 lakhs for building homes and 6.50% of subsidy would be provided on the interest part, as well'.

He requested the people to make use of these welfare schemes by applying with relevant documents and also insisted the authorities to respond immediately to the application received, so far.  The loans will be sanctioned by the Slum Clearance board through recognised banks and women self-help groups. 

Coimbatore Corporation commissioner Dr. Vijayakarthikeyan, IAS, Asst. Corporation Commissioner, Mrs. Gandhimathi, Sub-Registrar, Mrs. Vijayalakshmi, District Distribution Officer Mr. Saravanamurthy, Women Projects Officer Mr. Ramesh and other government officials participated in the event.
