The Peelamedu area was engulfed with smoke, after a private dump yard in the same area caught fire, early this morning.
The public intimated the fire service department about the incident., who rushed to the spot and controlled the fire from spreading to the nearby petrol bunk, which would have caused a huge disaster.
However, the residents in the City have been constantly complaining of dust allergies, skin ailments, eye irritation problems and allied nuisance, due to frequent smouldering of fire at the dump yards surrounded by residential areas.
