Central Minister Pon. Radhakrishnan of BJP was here in the city to meet Sasikumar's family and express his condolence.
While speaking to the press, he expressed his strong condemnation on the brutal attacks on Hindu religious leaders, across the State in recent times. He also alleged that if police would have extended their protection to Sasikumar, his death incident could have been averted. The violence during the procession was planned and deliberately executed by some 'terror elements'. During the procession, stones were hurled on the activists of the party by some people from worship centres, in certain areas, he told.

He urged that a thorough investigation should be instigated to nab the offenders and also on those who staged violence during the procession. He insisted that the source from where these terror elements get financial and back up support should also be probed.
All the Hindu religious leaders should be provided with adequate protection with immediate effect, if delayed it could lead to undesirable incidents. During investigation, the police should also ascertain, if there any linkages between Pakistan's terrorist organisations and the terror elements present here in Coimbatore, he said.
He affirmed that their party has confidence on the special teams formed to nab the criminals of Sasikumar's murder.
Vanathi Srinivasan, State Secretary of BJP, SR Sekar and other senior dignitaries of the party were present during his visit.
