Though for a brief time, tension prevailed in Commissioner's Office as an accused who was brought for inquiry was beaten up by slipper by the complainant.
Chinnaswamy from Trichy was operating a medical shop at Ganapathy in the name of 'Med Cure'. He has lured people by saying that he has tied up a contract with BHEL Trichy on some investment grounds and canvassed people to invest a minimum of one lakh in the schemes, for which he would reward them with attracting interest at the end of the year along with the principal amount.
Lured by the interest rates and involvement of a well established company, people invested close to 8 crores within a short span of time. Last month, when the investors called him to check on the current trend of their investment, they were blown out in great shock as Chinnaswamy has revealed that he has played with their money for building his personal assets and he has done this in the intent of living luxuriously. And, his connection with Bhel, is a hoax.
The investors were shocked by his revelations and immediately took up the issue to the Police handling Economic Offences. Yesterday, Chinnasamy was brought to the commissioner office for investigation. The investors on seeing him got infuriated and one of the investor attacked him with his slippers. The police pacified the investors and cleared the commotion. The investors have stated that using their funds he has purchased acres of land at Trichy, 200 sovereign of jewels and luxury cars. Thye urged the Commissioner to take stern action against the culprit and help them to retrieve their investments.
