City-based students show a musical way to spread awareness about dengue

The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) is leaving no stone unturned in order to ensure that dengue is under control in our city. The latest initiative in this direction is the launch of a music video to spread awareness about this disease. Coimbatore corporation commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan today officially released a Compact Disk (CD) that contains a song to educate the public about dengue. We are told this musical awareness song is a creation of two city-based school students. Abinaya of class X and her sister who are studying in SBOA school have created this awareness song. The duo has written the lyrics and sung this song too.

Post the official launch of this CD, corporation commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan instructed this CD to be circulated among all schools in our city. All this we are told is being done to spread the necessary awareness about this disease among school students.

In the past and currently too the CCMC is organising several awareness campaigns to educate the public about what causes dengue and also how mosquito borne dengue can be controlled.

Assistant Collector P. Gandhimathi, Corporation Health Officer Santhosh Kumar, Correspondent of SBOA matriculation school G. Selavaraj, Principal Geetha Gopinath, Parents Teachers Association Member S. Selvakumar and T. Ravichandran were present during the song release function.
