Corporation commissioner creates awareness about dengue among school students


As predicted by the meterological department it is expected that the northeast monsoons would hit the city shortly. As an act of precaution, our City Corporation is fully geared up with sanitation  drives to meet the issues that comes along with the monsoon like water clogging, monsoonal diseases/infections, sanitation issues etc. As a part of the on-going initiatives, today a dengue awareness drive was flagged off at Devanga Higher secondary School.



Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan participated in this programme. Placards to educate students on the causes and symptoms on dengue were released. The Commissioner interacted with the students of this school and educated them on the ways how this mosquito borne disease can be prevented.



As part of this programme, Nilavembu Kudineer was distributed to the students of this school. Assistant Commissioner Gandhimathi, Health inspector Maru Santhoskumar, Central Zone Assistant Commissioner Mohanasundari and corporation officials participated in this event.
