The members of the Tamil Nadu Senior Engineer Association when speaking to the media toady in Coimbatore said that a resolution need not be passed in the parliament to constitute the Cauvery Water Management Tribunal. As per the Multistate River Water Case Law 1956 Subclause (6), Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal was formed.
As per the same law Cauvery Water Management Board can be constituted without sending it to a parliamentary review. Naramada River Control Board, Krishna-Godavari Management Board are testimonies to this. Central government vested with all the powers to constitute the Cauvery River Management Tribunal. The government should also consider the PAP canal issue in which the disputes arising are resolved at the official level. The spokesperson also shared with the media that Central government acting against the interests of Tamil Nadu in this issue. The Tamil Nadu government has all rights to demand the constitution of Cauvery Management Water Tribunal.
