Three persons arrested under GOONDAS for violence in connection with recent violence in city

Hindu Munnani functionary C. Sasikumar was hacked to death by a group of persons at Subramaniampalayam on September 22. During the final procession of this functionary violence erupted in Coimbatore. Buses, private vehicles and a police vehicle were set on fire during the violence. Also, many shops were damaged.

Police arrested more than 800 people for their involvement in the recent violence. The Thudiyalur police requested the district collector to detain Karthick, Praveenkumar and Pradeep Kumar under the provisions of GOONDAS act. Following the collectors order, the needful was done.
