Today morning, Bharathiar University (BU) inaugurated the Bharathiar University Counseling Center (BUCC). Prof. Dr. A.Ganapathi, Vice Chancellor, Bharathiar University, in his inaugural address emphasized on the role and relevance of counselling among the participants of the higher education.
“World over it has been proved without doubt that counselling is one such remedy for human problems. The guiding and accrediting bodies of higher education place premium on the student well being and counselling in the campus. Proper and effective counselling would transform the life and functioning of the clients. In this context Bharathiar University has initiated BUCC as a pioneering activity to address the issues confronting students including the academic endeavours.” Dr. A. Ganapathi said.
Inaugurating the BUCC the VC stated that BUCC has five trained counsellors with years of rich experience and would address the issues of the students. It is a great relief for the stakeholders of the university since the centralized formalized highly professionalized counselling services would be offered through this center. This is a novel method and style to reach the clients who fix the appointment and reach the counsellors Exclusive center would function in all afternoon of the working days and would cater to the needs of the male and female students separately. At the BUCC issues faced by the students would be effectively addressed by the counsellors in the center.
