City police steps up vigil across shopping hotspots for diwali

We are just one day away from the festival of lights, diwali. The people of Coimbatore are doing their last minute purchases. The vehicles on our roads have increased and shopping areas too continue to remain crowded all through the day. The city police is taking no chances this festive season. The city police have stepped up vigil in public places especially on areas that receive the maximum shopping crowds.

Watch towers have been erected on Cross Cut Road in Gandhipuram, town hall and in big bazaar street. A team of policemen continue to monitor the crowds through these watch towers. The city police have identified a few shopping hot spots in our city and CCTV cameras have been installed in such locations.

The police is also distributing pamphlets to the shoppers with messages asking the shoppers to be careful of chain snatchers and pick-pocketers while they shop. Additionally, announcements are made through loud speakers warning the public to be extra careful. In a few shopping areas in our city, the police has erected flex boards with messages urging the public not to be careless while they shop.

The city police is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that Coimbatore experiences a safe diwali.
