Rs.41 lakhs distributed to the pensioners


Coimbatore collector T. N. Hariharan distributed cheques to pensioners during the pensioners grievances redressal day that was held today at the Coimbatore collector's office. He also received petitions from the pensioners and ordered prompt action on the petitions received. Tamilnadu chief minister J.Jayalaitha has ordered the distribution of benefits to the beneficiaries under various shames of the Tamilnadu government. An officer from Chennai visited Coimbatore and took the necessary steps for the distribution of the cheques to the beneficiaries. So far Rs.41 lakhs has been distributed to the pensioners. The officials have been instructed to take immediate action on the petitions received from the pensioners” he said.

About 400 pensioners participated in the meeting and 44 petitions were received from them. Action on 30 petitions was taken immediately and 14 petitions have been sent to the concerned department officials for necessary action. Joint director of head office of pension department C.Ramachandran, Deputy Director Mathivannan, Personal Assistant of District Collector (Accounts) Shesadhri, District Treasury officer (in-charge) D. C. L. Natarajan among other government officials were present during the distribution.
