Due to the non-payment of property tax, water connection of five residents across five zones has been disconnected. This, we are told is on the orders of Corporation Commissioner K. Vijaya Karthikeyan. The water connections to the home of Subash Chandra Tiwari and Tiruva Chandra Towari residing at the G.V. Residency, have been disconnected. The tax they owe to the Coimbatore Corporation is Rs.11,922 and Rs. 4,664 respectively.
Similar action was taken against Sumitha who is living in the Annai Indra Nagar in Ward #97 in Kurichi for non payment of property taxes of Rs.34,416. Also the water connection to the home of V. Seethalakshmi living in Sabari Gardens in the 44th ward and Santha living in Avarampalayam were also disconnected owing to the non payment of property tax.
