Central Minister Smriti Zubin Irani was here in the city to participate in a function organised by Isha Yoga Center. Immediately after her flight landed here, the press were expecting to meet tyhe Minsiter to have an interview. Unfortunately, Smriti's footwear was damaged.
The Minister was seen walking out of the airport with just wearing one slipper. There was no press meet as she immediately boarded her car with the escorts to attend the function at Isha Yoga Centre, Vellingiri.
On the way to Isha, near Perur, Minister Smriti asked her escorts to stop the car by a cobbler to repair her damaged footwear. After the repairs were done the minister gave a 100 rupee note to the cobbler. As the cobbler did not have change he made some more repairs to the footwear.
The public around the area were shocked to spot a Central Minister's motorcade stopping by for repairing a footwear rather than opting to buy a new pair of footwear.
