S.P. Velumani AIADMK minister for Rural development, Rural Development and Special schemes inaugurated various works to the tune of Rs.1.44 crores that have been undertaken in the city by the Tamil Nadu Government under the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Development Schemes in the 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93 wards of the Coimbatore Corporation.
He performed Bhoomi pooja for children play ground and a park that is to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.31.50 lakhs. In Sundakamuthur he inaugurated the works for the construction of the main road and the construction of storm water drains in the Palani Andavar Koil Street that is to be constructed for a cost of Rs.4.50 lakhs.
He laid the foundation for construction of drainage at a cost of Rs.31.50 lakhs and a bus shelter in the 89th ward Ramachettipalayam. He also inaugurated the park and children’s play ground constructed at a cost of Rs.20 lakhs and served food to the customers at Amma Unavagam in ward 90 of Kovaipudhur.
The minister also inaugurated the construction works of bus shelters at 91st ward in Kulathupalayam and another bus shelter near the Mahalakshmi Kumaran Hall. He also inaugurated the Anganwadi Center at the 92nd ward near the Sakthi Vinayagar Temple which was constructed at a cost of Rs.9 lakhs. Corporation Commissioner and Presiding Officer Dr. Vijaykarthikeyan, Deputy Commissioner P. Gandhimathi and corporation officials were present.
