Brain Dead Lawyer at KMCH gave lease of Lives to 4 persons


R.Milton Anand, 44-years-old survived by his wife Ms.M.Sheeba and 12 year-old daughter are residents of Ganapathy, Coimbatore District. He is a lawyer but currently not practicing. 

On 27th November, 2016, Milton fell unconscious and was diagnosed to have Grade IV SAH A.COM Aneurysm due to high blood pressure at Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore. 

On the same day, he was shifted to KMCH, Avinashi road, for treatment. During his hospitalisation, he underwent medical management. Unfortunately was declared brain dead on 1st December at 3 pm. 

Milton’s family stood clueless and came forward generously to donate his organs. In the presence of family members and relatives, team of Doctors from KMCH and Coimbatore Govt Hospital immediately went into action and completed all statutory requirement. 

Today morning (2nd December) the doctor’s team harvested Liver, Eyes and skin from the deceased. His Liver was transplanted at KMCH, Skin and Eyes were sent to different other private hospitals in Coimbatore. 

Milton’s family members have expressed that they feel content as the organs has saved four other people’s precious life. They also urged that seeing this people organ awareness should reach people. 

With humility Dr.Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman, KMCH thanked the family for their bold and timely decision on organ donation. ‘This act of generosity will bring in more awareness towards this Nobel cause, he said.
