Official statement from Professor Richard Beale on CM's health is 'worrisome'

Nation-wide prayers and extremely tense situations prevail as the Apollo hospitals has described CM's health as 'grave situation'.

Seconding that, Professor Richard Beale, Critical Care Specialist from UK who was handling the initial treatment of the CM has issued a statement concurring with the hospital's statement claiming CM in a 'very critical' health situation.

The statement reads “The situation is extremely grave, but I can confirm that everything possible is being done to give her the best chance of surviving this shocking event. Despite the progress the CM made, her underlying health conditions inevitably meant that the risk of further problems always remained. She is being cared for by highly expert multi-disciplinary team and is now on extra-corporal life support. This is the most advanced level of support available, and is the approach the best centres internally would take in this situation.”

“That this technology is available at Apollo in Chennai reflects the high degree of expertise of this centre and that at all times'.

Appreciating the exceptional care provided by Apollo Hospitals and the team from AIIMS, Professor Richard Beale has also extended his prayers to CM, her family, carers and the people of the state for her recovery.
