Pradeep Kumar (20) son of Gandhi was a resident of Sidhapuhur in Coimbatore. He experienced chest pain early this morning. It has been reported that his parents had admitted him to the Ellen Hospital in the city.
Sources at this hospital share that doctors at this hospital instructed the nurses to administer an injection, which is the duty of the doctors. However, it has been reported that after the injection was administered, patient Pradeep experienced seizures. Following this reaction from the patient, when nurses at this hospital, called the doctors they (doctors) refused to visit the hospital and attend the patient.
The relatives of this patient allege that initially, doctors failed to diagnose his problem. Pradeep was suffering and when a doctor administered an injection Pradeep had started vomiting and lost his consciousness and he died. Following his death, Pradeep’s relatives got angry and broke the telephone and the glass doors of this hospital. It has also been reported that the angry relatives attacked the doctor Ramachandran of this hospital. Subsequently, doctors at this hospital informed the police and sent Pradeep's body for post-mortem.
Pradeep's parents when speaking about the incident said that their son died due to the negligence and wrong treatment from the doctors. They also demanded that action should be taken against the doctors for negligence.
Commenting on this incident, Ellen hospital management said, “Pradeep became unconscious when the food got stuck in his windpipe when he was vomiting. Treatment was given for clearing the block. At this juncture, Pradeep's relatives were already creating trouble. Thus, we could not provide his with treatment. Hence, we requested his relatives to move him to another hospital.”
This hospital which otherwise is at the helm of activity remained gloomy, following this incident.
