District DMK Youth wing launches 'Thalapathy Blood Bank' an exclusive App for blood donation


The Coimbatore district youth wing members of DMK launched an exclusive App called 'Thalapathy blood bank' on Tuesday in the city. The blood bank app aims to instill awareness on blood donation among the people.

The DMK youth wing, state deputy secretary, Pynthamil Pari, while speaking to us shared that, "There are many blood bank apps with database of people and connecting the donors and recipients. This 'Thalapathy Blood Bank App' has been launched in a simplified manner in a very user-friendly way. The app user has to enter his details like name, phone number, blood group, email id, area and his last donated date, if applicable. After registering the same, his database will be recorded in the database. When an urgent requirement for blood arise, an alert will be sent to all users and interested volunteers. Similarly, the people who are in need of blood requirements can search for the blood group and get in touch with the donors.

Pari also revealed that post-launch they are presently 250 users and that their youth wing has plans of creating awareness among the youngsters regarding blood donation. He also assured that the purpose of the app is solely to link the users and recipients for blood requirements during emergency times, hence no party related promotions, news or pop-ups will be found in the app. 

He also stated that close to 400 members from AIADMK had joined their party last Sunday at their youth wing offices in Ram Nagar, Sai Baba Colony and Mahalakshmi Nagar. He appreciated the efforts of Prabhuram, Ramesh kumar and Kaushi who were very supportive in developing the App. 

The App is presently available for android users which is just 14.74 MB. Soon, IOS users will too get the App as the development is in process, he said.
