Nishanth was asked to buy goods sold on a popular e-commerce business site and sell them to someone else on the same website. He also made his first investment of Rs 600 on the e-commerce website.

Subsequently, he was given a profit of Rs 400 and a refund of Rs 1,000. Nishanth, who was lured like this went on to invest a total of Rs 5 lakh as the first instalment. It is learnt that he borrowed more than Rs 2 lakh from his friends and invested a total of Rs 7 lakh.

At this stage, there was no response from scamsters to the money invested and the profits and the investment amount were also not returned. Suspecting that he was duped, Nishanth, lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police in Coimbatore city.
