Ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, officials including Dr Mahendran have been appointed as observers across Tamil Nadu to monitor polling stations and ensure smooth, transparent election processes.
Coimbatore: In preparation for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, election observers including Dr Mahendran have been appointed across the State to strengthen monitoring at polling stations.
As per the guidelines of the Election Commission, these appointments have been made to oversee polling processes, coordinate election duties, and ensure that voting procedures are conducted smoothly and fairly.
Officials have been deployed across districts and constituencies with the responsibility of directly monitoring polling activities and maintaining adherence to election norms.
Observers will be stationed in key constituencies including Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Pollachi, Valparai, Pappireddipatti, Palacode, Dharmapuri, Pennagaram, Udhagamandalam, Gudalur and Coonoor, among others.
Additional appointments have been made in constituencies such as Hosur, Thalli, Krishnagiri, Bargur, Perambur, Ambattur, Tiruvallur, Anthiyur, Erode East, Erode West, Modakurichi, Kumarapalayam, Nannilam, Harur, Yercaud, Paramakudi, Vasudevanallur, Sankarankovil, Sivakasi and Madurai Central.
These observers will monitor polling station arrangements, ensure voter safety and freedom, and oversee compliance with election regulations. They will also be responsible for addressing complaints and ensuring immediate action in case of violations.
