Burglars loot photo studio near Peelamedu, decamp with Rs.20 lakh worth of items including a computer

Police are investigating the case in which burglars broke into a photo studio at Avarampalayam near Peelamedu and decamped with equipments and a computer worth about Rs.20 lakh.


Coimbatore: Abu Moharaj (34), a native of Ernakulam in Kerala had been running a photo studio at Ilango Nagar in Avarampalayam, Peelamedu, Coimbatore.

It appears that he had gone to Anaikatti a few days ago due to his personal work. Stephanraj, who works in the studio, looked after the studio in owner's absence.

Stephanraj, who had finished work at the studio left for the day after locking the studio. When he returned the next morning he was shocked to find that the lock of the studio was broken and several items including a computer had been looted.

Abu Moharaj, the owner of the studio had preferred complaint with Peelamedu police who took up the investigation.

Fingerprint experts had been pressed into service at the crime spot. CCTV cameras installed in the area are being examined for any clues.

The police are scrutinising the CCTV camera footages in the locality for any vital clues including the cars that passed by the street.
