Man goes to church for Christmas mass and returns to find his house robbed in Ondipudur

Anandkumar went to church for Christmas prayers at Annai Indira Nagar near Ondipudur in Coimbatore and came back to find that his house was broken into. The man who broke open the lock of the house looted 11 sovereigns of jewellery and Rs 25,000 in cash.


Coimbatore: Anandakumar (54), a resident of Annai Indira Nagar near Ondipudur in Coimbatore. He runs a grocery shop in the same area.

On midnight of the 24th, Anandakumar locked up his house on Christmas eve and went with his family to attend a mass at a church near his house. The owner who had locked the house hid the key in a secret niche in front of the house before leaving for mass.

In the meanwhile, some unidentified person picked up the key, opened the door and looted the house.

Unknown miscreants picked up the key and looted 10 sovereigns of gold chain, four grams of earrings including two grams of ring,and Rs 25,000 in cash and two mobile phones.

Anandakumar, who returned home was shocked to find that the door was ajar. When he went inside, he found that the jewellery and cash in the cupboard had been stolen.

He lodged a complaint with the Singanallur police about the burglary.

Based on the complaint, the Police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the man who looted the grocer's house.
