Assembly resolution for Tamil to be declared as central communication language should be passed - MDMK leader Duraisamy

If the BJP government rejects the resolution to make Tamil the central communication language, knowing the true nature of it, the people will teach them a lesson in the coming parliamentary elections, he said.

Tirupur: MDMK leader and former MLA Su Duraisamy held a press conference at the MDMK trade union office on the Tirupur-Uthukuli road.

Speaking to reporters, he said, "BJP is actively trying to impose Hindi in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, which is scheduled to meet on January 9, should pass a resolution demanding that Tamil be declared as the central language of communication.

If the central government rejects it, the people will know the truthfulness of the central government and teach the BJP a lesson in the lok sabha elections.

Similarly, in every non-Hindi speaking state, a resolution should be passed to declare the state language as the language of communication. The BJP is trying to impose Hindi in Tamil Nadu by making English a compulsory language in all Hindi-speaking states.

Tamils have been exerting their dominance abroad by making English the link language. Changes to the question of MDMK's dynastic politics are inevitable. The future of MDMK will depend on its actions."
