Police arrest two for the sale of Kerala lottery tickets near Thudiyalur

Police have arrested two persons who were engaged in selling the banned Kerala state lottery at Subramaniampalayam in Coimbatore and seized Rs 6.50 lakh in cash, five cell phones and a car.


Coimbatore: The Thudiyalur police have arrested two persons for the sale of the Kerala lottery which is banned by the Tamil Nadu government at Subramanyampalayam in Coimbatore district.

Acting on a tip-off that some people are selling Kerala lottery tickets banned by the Tamil Nadu government in and around Thudiyalur in the police rushed to the spot.

Thudiyalur police sub-inspector Guruchandra Vadivel was on patrol duty at Subramaniampalayam when they intercepted Vinod Kumar and Arun, who was arrested by the police.

Police also seized Rs 6, 50,000 in cash, five cell phones, 60 lottery tickets and a luxury car from them.

According to the police, they are on the lookout for three more persons, who are involved in the illegal sale including Balan, Pradeep and Prabhu, who are said to be absconding.
