Police arrest trio for assaulting Migrant worker and robbing him near Palladam

Based on the CCTV footage, the policemen caught three youths, who were roaming suspiciously in Chinnakarai area and interrogated them.



Tirupur: Police arrested three persons Rahul, Akash and Ramu Prakash for attacking a migrant worker and robbing money from him, at Chinnakarai near Palladam.

Afzal Qasim, a migrant worker and a native of Orissa is working in a hosiery unit at Kunnangalpalayam near Palladam. He had visited the mosque in Chinnakarai for night prayers on March 7. When he came out of the mosque after prayers, three miscreants on a two-wheeler attacked Afzal Qasim and robbed Rs 500 from him.

Later, Afzal Qasim duly informed the policemen manning the Chinnakarai Police check post about the incident.

Based on the CCTV footage, the policemen caught three youths who were roaming suspiciously in Chinnakarai area and interrogated them.

The arrested persons' names are given as Rahul from Tirunelveli, Akash and Ramu Prakash from Valparai. All three are working in Tirupur.

In the meanwhile, the CCTV footage of the three youths assaulting a migrant worker in the middle of the night has gone viral on social media.

The arrested were produced in court and remanded in custody.
